Mark had been looking for work experience and approached Stevie with the offer to make “tea and coffee” and to generally help out.
Stevie immediate thought was why Mark felt that was all he was good for. He wrote to Mark's school and asked why a young boy should have such low expectations.
Stevie then set about getting Mark on a road where he would have the confidence and self belief to start on his adult journey and make something of his life.
Mark shadowed Stevie for a day, learning about Stevie's working methods and ideologies. He also joined Stevie at his kick boxing class to understand the importance of life-work balance and why and healthy body and mind are the greatest foundation to success.
For the rest of the week Mark enjoyed a day's work experience at FedEx, buddied with KDS Training and KDS Distribution and ended his week at the David Lloyd Sports Centre.
We filmed little snippets of Mark's journey, which you can watch below.
Mark walked away from his week with Stevie and KDS a more confident individual who now realises that his goals are not to make the tea and coffee but to achieve his dreams and goals.
A fantastic, humbling and inspirational experience for all at KDS.
Mark has now started his own journey with fresh eyes.
