Youth Academy Push Boundaries

Part of the KDS Academy model includes a ‘Mind over Matter’ day. This is where the group are taken to the gym to undertake a day of fitness and pushing themselves over boundaries.

It is always a stand out day on every academy because it shows the candidates that they can achieve anything that they put their mind to. The fact that they prove this to themselves physically means that they come in mentally prepared for facing challenges head on.

Today, the Youth Academy undertook a fitness session at a boxing gym. They were not doing any physical contact stuff but were taking part in circuit training to push themselves as far as possible.

Stevie, delivered a motivational and energising talk to the candidates before they left explaining what the day would entail and how they were in control to achieve more than they thought possible.

The day was full of messages and learnings for the group including discipline, respect and appreciation. It was also a day of self-discovery and Stevie left them with a strong message and all of the tools they will need to continue with their fitness regime.

Stevie asked them to visualise how they would look and feel having undertaken a fitness regime for 4 months. This would act as the motivation to keep this going.

Thank you once again to Bernie for setting up a circuit that pushed the guys hard!
