Week 3 – Liz and Martin showing huge developments

What a week it has been for Liz, Martin, and their families, in their continuing journey with Stevie! 21 days, 504 hours – in the grand scheme of things not a long time, but a time in which so much can, and has, been achieved.

Liz
There were visible differences when Liz attended the boxing last night, she has been eating better, drinking more water and taking better care of her skin with her new products. She was surprised to find how easy it was when she got into the habit and how quickly she could see the benefits! She had taken the huge step of taking swimming lessons, overcoming her fear and was successful in making across the pool! A huge achievement in one lesson! She built on that by completing a 30 min session with Bernie, who is also helping Liz with her diet plan for weight loss and well-being. Keeping up her walking, she has now encouraged one of her friends in this activity – building in more time with friends and spreading her knowledge on the benefits of fitness! Liz has smashed through the limits she had placed upon herself this week and those of you following the journey on Stevie Kidd People Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Stevie-Kidd-People/144677305584790) will have seen her updates on what she is doing to keep up the momentum! (if you are not then become a fan (Like) of this page to be kept up todate!

Liz also has been spending time with each member of her family and admits that she has enjoyed this and is seeing the benefits on the whole family! She is away to think of more fun activities that she can do with each of them! She was even more impressed when she realised the wealth of skills and problem solving strategies that she had undertaken to achieve everything that she has done this week! A very proud, motivated and smiling Liz is moving onto achieve great things in week 4!

Martin
Martin has also had a week of revelations and changing his behaviours, as you will have seen from our previous blog http://www.steviekidd.co.uk/blog/martins-advice-take-a-breath-and-start-again-/
The difference in his home and family life is immense and we have had brilliant feedback from his wife on the transformation of Martin! Martin has been giving us regular feedback (and yes we will get him into the regular facebook posting yet!) In his own words here is Martin’s progress this week!

“Had a bit of a think about how things have changed with the family over the last few weeks. I feel as though we are definitely spending more quality time together, we have adopted a different approach when dealing with our daughter and she is no longer competing for attention with phones and computers! We don't raise our voices as much, it has happened a couple of times but that just reminds you that there's still room for improvement and not to get complacent. I don't think there'll come a time when we get everything 100% right, but we can strive to be the best parents we can.
Myself and Karen now sit down and think of things we can do together that we'll all enjoy, simple things like going to the cinema, the park or going down the coast on nice days. It doesn't have to cost a lot of money, as long as we're doing something we enjoy.
Overall so far the difference from a few weeks ago has been incredible, we're paying attention to each other instead of other things.”

Brilliant achievements this week from both Martin and Liz! Keep posting your comments of encouragement on the blogs and Stevie Kidd People Facebook site as both Liz and Martin are loving reading them!
