Week 10, spot the difference!
Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays always pass in a flash with this group of young people from the Activities Agreement programme in the building and this week was no different.
When you can impress the Non-Executive Director of the company, another group who are in training in the building, a new member of the KDS Team, Council staff and visitors from other Companies you know you are on the road to success and that big changes have been noticed.
So what changes have been noticed in this group of young people who are now becoming mature young adults??
• Better posture and pride in their appearance
• Clearer and healthier skin, hair and eyes.
• More eye contact and more positive body language.
• Better use of language, more thought is given to the words they use and how they pronounce them!
• Confidence in their own abilities and more supportive of others in the group and people in their personal life!
• More open minded about other people and the choices they make.
• Greater knowledge of, and interest in, their health and well-being.
• A maturity in their approach to tasks and their future.
• Taking responsibilities for their actions.
• Travelling independently and tackling their issues with territorialism.
• Better interpersonal skills, listening skills and a new ability to put their point across calmly.
• Joining the dots on how their behaviour may affect their future.
• Taking personal responsibility when making informed decisions and accepting that actions have consequences.
• Managing their time and workload when given tasks to complete.
• Accepting feedback – positive and negative!
The list could go on, but I am going to give all of you the same challenge I regularly give the group when we look over the journey from week one to where we are now:
What are the biggest changes you see in these young people?

Well just to say this group are all now well on their road to fully participating in the employment market with the new skills, confidence and self belief they have now gained. Well done to Renfrewshire''s Confident Youth of Today and Tomorrow.

A big change I have noticed is how comfortable the young people are with themselves around other adults, employees or guests to the office. They confidently approach anybody and greet them without being propmpted to by Kate and really leave a strong and, more
importantly, a very positive first impression.

I had noticed a big change as i had been working through in the capital for the last 20 days, so on returning to head office i saw a group of young confident happy people who had transformed themselves by taking ownership of their young lifes. So well done
keep up the massive effort you have all been putting in and keep going forward.
