The Recruit: The finale

I had been immensely impressed by their performance during The Recruit and was again struck by their energy, enthusiasm and passion for business.
My hearty congratulations to the winners, Lynsey MacKay and Sarah Jane Sarkosh.
They have been fantastic candidates and deserve praise for being selected from such an impressive group.
The winners now have a fantastic opportunity to work at the KDS Group.
However, there are no losers in this process. Some of the candidates will benefit from one to one coaching from myself and we will follow and support all of them as they move forward.
One of my great passions is supporting the next generation of young people.
I want them to be allowed to follow their dreams, to know how to achieve them and to have the self-confidence and skills to reach their ultimate goals.
This week's media has focussed on the positives of exam results but also the negative of high youth unemployment, poor job prospects over the medium term and the 'lost generation'.
Talks of a 'lost generation' is nonsense. Times may be a little rocky, as they have been in the past, but we must show unflinching support to the next generation to ensure they have every opportunity to progress, to become outstanding members of their community and to achieve their own level of excellence personally and professionally.
The Recruit is one way of helping to achieve this. Personal mentoring is another.
However, giving your own child the skills and confidence which will allow them to make their own choices is something all parents should focus on.
Have you thought about how you can help the next generation rather than just accept the lazy, stereotyping displayed by some sections of the media?
The Recruit has reconfirmed my belief that the next generation will break through these barriers and achieve their dreams.
