Stevie helps the homeless in New York

Over the festive period temperatures in New York have plummeted and 20 inches of snow has fallen in some areas. There was a call for community centres and churches to open their doors and provide some shelter for the homeless people of the city who faced having to cope in these conditions on the streets and without shelter.

Since he arrived in New York, before the snow blizzard, Stevie has been helping homeless people by working with them on their state of mind and by providing them with hot food and drinks. This is something that Stevie is absolutely passionate about and an issue that he tackles in every city that he visits.

This trip to New York is a family holiday, one that Stevie started to visualise on January 1st 2010 and he has made every part of his vision a reality. Even though it is paramount that this trip is mainly about family time the philanthropist in Stevie never switches off and when there are people that can be helped Stevie is on a mission to help as many people as he possibly can.

Earlier in the year Stevie’s work with homeless people in Brighton inspired a New York Businesswoman to start a charity in her home city “Energy for Homeless”. On his first day in New York Stevie met up with his friend and founder of this charity, Kalliope Barlis to help her with the amazing work that she is doing and to see firsthand what he inspired.

On Christmas morning Stevie took to the streets to speak with as many homeless people as he could to help them stay mentally strong to be able to survive in the freezing conditions. The picture below shows Stevie talking with Brad who has been homeless since the terrorist attack on the Twin Towers. Stevie spoke with Brad and let him know about the Energy for Homeless charity and how this could assist him by providing food and helping him to find accommodation.

When Stevie returns from New York he will share many other stories about the fantastic work that he has been involved with so keep checking back to the blog for updates.
