Stevie Goes Down a Storm at HR Firm

This morning Stevie was asked to deliver a motivational and business strategy session with an HR firm in Glasgow.

The firm were looking for some guidance on creating a clear direction for the business and some motivational training for the Directors’. One of the Directors’ knows Stevie personally so understands the speed and passion he approaches each day with and wants to know how he does it!

For us the work started yesterday as we went to work putting together the pack and Stevie finalised the content last night. On a personal note, when I read through the final draft of the material this morning I was blown away!

Stevie had listed over 200 points, if you think that getting through 200 points in a couple of hours is impossible then you really don’t know Stevie Kidd!

Stevie’s style is high energy and high impact, it’s no holds barred and he talks openly and honestly. To get the most out of the session, participants must take the same attitude.

We had asked the Directors’ what they wanted to get from the session so we had an idea of the areas that were challenging them. Stevie would be focussing on the overall business model and the actions required for setting out a clear direction for the business which looks at tomorrow’s agenda.

One of the techniques Stevie uses to highlight this point is look at who is the best in the world at what they do, so, who is the most successful HR Company in the world? What is it that they do that sets them apart from their competitors? In almost all cases this is a strategy that clients hadn’t even thought of.

Stevie would also be looking at what the Directors’ were looking to get from a personal perspective. Stevie analysed the challenges being faced and implemented some motivational strategies that eliminate negative language patterns and unhelpful ways of thinking.

Also discussed was the “wheel of life” this is a tool used to get the work / life balance right. It asks that you score each area of your life and then to implement the changes required to get those scores up to the maximum level. This tool works well as it forces you to address all areas of life and not put off dealing with an area that needs work.

The session went down a storm; we will be putting together a full evaluation case study which will feature on our website. It is very difficult to get immediate feedback as participants always need some time to reflect on what has been said and to implement the changes that are relevant to them.
