Stephen's contribution to the future of KDS!
This morning I arrived at KDS and I had been given a task to do. This task was a major one. I had to think about what I would like to see in a Youth Academy. It was my responsibility to plan and prepare everything. This was beneficial to me as Stevie Kidd has been mentoring me on focusing on attention to detail and maintaining a consistently high standard of work, so this was an opportunity to put these learnings into practice.
Although this was my project, Edmund had given me some ideas for my plan and this was helpful to me. One thing I have learned at KDS is that they value everyone’s opinion so I know my voice will be heard. Mark McKirdy was also in today so he was able to work with me. His contributions to the programme were good and I was glad I got to work with him. Throughout the day, Edmund was giving me advice on how to improve my ideas and this was helpful to me because I was able to produce a well structured and detailed plan for a Youth Academy.
Today I was also told that I will be shadowing Ian Sim, Stevie Kidd’s accountant. I am looking forward to this because it will be a very useful and interesting experience because I am going to college to study accountancy after the summer. This will also give me an insight into what I can expect in my career as an accountant. An advantage of visiting Ian is it will allow me to have experienced what a day in the life of an accountant is like before I’ve started college. This also shows that Stevie goes that one step extra in helping people reach their positive destination.
Today has been a busy day but I have made use of it and I am looking forward to Thursday so thanks to Ian Sim, Stevie Kidd and KDS Group for assisting me to make it happen!
