Seizing Another Opportunity, Instantly!

Last week, Stevie helped me “join the dots” when he told me about a lawyer he knows called Billy Smith, and how I would be able to contact him. Now, as a result, I have a secured a meeting with Billy at his own law firm to give me another insight into the industry.

The whole process of setting up this meeting was very swift, which was due to being with Stevie where I learned how being instant with communications can leave someone with a good impression of you. Thus, during the time between my mentoring session in the afternoon and the end of the day on Friday, I had researched and contacted Billy, introduced myself and arranged for us to have a meeting. I discovered that he had went to a top uni, and then worked for a large firm before setting up his own – he is an ideal contact for me as I too have these ambitions.

Looking back on my meeting with David Hoey which took place within the KDS offices, I had been quite nervous about my first formal meeting with a new contact. Now, I have overcome this challenge, however again the bar has been raised as my upcoming meeting with Billy is outwith KDS therefore outside of my comfort zone.

All in all, I am very optimistic about this opportunity and will ensure that I take as much away from it as possible.

3 O''s in there that really jumped out at me. Overcome, optimistic and opportunity. Coincidentally, I left school with 3 O''s. Nowhere near as useful as yours Sarahjane. Keep us all informed about the progress please.
