Retail Academy talk about their journey so far
Week 1 - The start to the academy was with "Who Am I", a question we'd not asked much previously. Then we covered Power words, and came up with one word for each of Stevie Kidd's letters to make up his name. It's been fun on the academy, even drawing a pig and laughing at the psychological meanings to each of our drawings, including the long tails!! Our "who Am I" then became the Johari Window (or Windae, Alan!) which is a strategy of taking key attributes from our personalities and lives making it easy to communicate them. Having achieved this, we then ended the week with Mind Over Matter - OUCH! We didn't really know what to expect, some were nervous, apprehensive but all had lots of fun. Such an enjoyable day although very sore muscles the next day or two.
In a word - it was Fantastico!
Week 2 - We are all really excited about this week. we are having a great time at the Academy with a lot to get through in one week. We've started with Branding and making ourselves the Brand, we've looked at what makes a Brand & using Logo's & Taglines. Now we've moved onto job descriptions and understanding what employers are looking for. Today was interview techniques and next will be CV's, Legal theory in practice and contacting employers. We're looking forward to finding out who we get fo our Buddy Days!!
