Non Sector Specific Academy 7 - Day One

Today was day one on the new Non Sector Specific Academy. 11 individuals coming together, new surroundings and new faces – the nerves were through the roof! These were soon forgotten about when we received a 30 minute motivational presentation from Stevie Kidd. A real eye opener to some, an inspiration, an enjoyable experience, changing mind sets and setting and achieving goals were some of the topics discussed after Stevie’s presentation. A great way to set the scene for our individual self discovery journeys. Stevie discussed his strategies for success at both ends of the scales from being unemployed to where he is today. Meeting Stephen McDonald also on the course allowed the candidates to determine their confidence levels and an understanding of building relationships.

Team building exercises and Who Am I were also on the agenda and everyone began to feel a lot more relaxed with their peers and sharing each other’s life experiences.

The candidates were then introduced to Stevie Hunter, Training Manager for KDS who also shared his strategies for employment and his background – Joining the Dots and Law of Attraction.

In the space of such a short period of time it is evident that Day One has made an impact on the candidates and their thought process towards employment. As trainer of the group it has been a privilege to meet these individuals and share this Day One with them, I look forward to tomorrow – Bring It On!!!!
