New Employee's Message to Stevie After Just One Week

 It is a known fact that everyone who comes into contact with KDS is blown away by our attitude..

"Stevie,

Almost the end of my 1st week...What have I let myself in for? I`ll tell you...a career that is dedicated to nothing short of excellence. Excellence from your team, excellence in their attitude towards the Company and it`s work ethic, excellence in their attitude towards the candidates, excellence in the product excellence in...well you get the picture.

Never slept much on Sunday night; what with the usual emotions associated with starting a new job. Not so much "can I do the job"...I know I can, it was more like will I fit in, will I get on with team and will I be able to integrate into a unique organisation that prides itself on being the best in it`s sector and will I prove to be an asset to you and the others. All this may sound as though I have a negative approach, nothing could be further from the truth. I realise that you have given me fantastic opportunity, a vocation that is not only a job but is a labour of love where I can make a difference & for that I am grateful and I won`t let you down. All this week I got out of bed in the morning wanting to go to work, saying to myself "what new, exciting development will present itself today. I haven`t done that in years

I still have much to learn, not only about the business but about you and the team, your mind set and what makes KDS Training tick. It will be a challenge & I relish that sort of thing...as you will no doubt see. Already I have learned a lot under the tutelage of Ali who has made this week insightful & interesting...the handshakes at the start and end of each day for example...all good stuff.

Finally let me say that everyone has gone out their way to make me feel welcome, I look forward to our chat tomorrow and I`m sure that I will prove to be a valuable addition to an EXCELLENT team.

Reading this blog made me think of my first week and the emotions experienced; I was definitely overwhelmed with how unique and fast KDS is, but Stevie and the team were only too supportive, as they are with any new employee. Hey Stuart - welcome to the team! Not had much of a chance to catch up over the last few days (due to the pace we all work at in KDS!) I''m sure we all remember those feelings well, I know I do. It''s a unique culture that does take some adjusting to but once you''ve done that it''s an amazing environment to come into everyday!

This is actually such a well written, honest and realistic representation of becoming a new member of the Training Team. The team we have is nothing short of phenominal. World Class. I''ve never worked for a company where a positive culture is embodied by all.

Hi Guys & Ladies, Thanks for the words of encouragement. It`s good to know that I will have plenty of support from dedicated professionals. Rest assured I will be picking your brains over the coming weeks & months so that I can become all I can be, not only for myself but the candidates also. Another good day with Ali...Construction & cleaning which was far more interesting than I thought they would be...Hat off to Ali for that. 1st Aid & your favourate & mine - Health & Safety at work tomorrow in Edinburgh before my baptism of fire on Thursday. Hi Stuart, The feelings you have right now, is what keeps me moving forward with the same passion i had when i started over 5 years ago. the quote i used then and still use now is: "EVERYDAY IS ALWAYS DAY 1"
