My third day as a KDS Trainer
This evening my head is truly in a spin after day 3 of my induction! I will not go on rollercoaster rides at theme parks, but today my mind was on one! I have so much information that I cannot even begin to process. Today I observed and experienced what an open day for an Academy is like. I was in taking prospective candidates photographs and got to participate in the whole team working together. Each member of staff had a role to play, and Michelle Lockard was able to co-ordinate many different aspects of this day with ease!
Another part of the KDS jigsaw is coming together for me as on hearing stories during candidate interviews, I now realise the importance of finding out about people and their stories. Finding out about the journey is an integral part of the way KDS operates. I discovered today that the soft skills in training are just as important, if not more than delivering formal training.
Candidates turned up today, some eager, some skeptical, some nervous and some uncertain. However, after the presentation the room was filled with electricity, people were on a high and I had noticed a difference from when they first entered for registration. I then got the opportunity to sit in at the interview stage and witness the careful selection of candidates. This process is really important and it is the key to a successful Academy.
I was thrilled to be part of this day and I really felt as if I had been part of the company for longer than 3 days! From the presentation delivered by Stevie Kidd today, I now appreciate that creativity involves thinking about things in a more efficient way and this is something that I have taken from today.
I am proud to be part of a workforce that challenges individuals to be the best they can be.
