My second day as a KDS Trainer
Another day in my KDS journey and I am learning so much. I have met many people today and listened to their stories about the path they followed which led to their employment with KDS. I started off this morning with Barry a driver, who took me on a few of his deliveries at client’s homes and care companies. I was amazed at how organised and how quickly he planned his route. He was meticulous and the key to this was clearly in his planning.
After this, I met with other members of staff who were kind enough to share their stories with me. I had a lot to take in and have been reflecting on some of their messages this afternoon. I learned that being honest, open and trustworthy is a valuable core principle which should be applied in every task I undertake. However, I must remember to be myself, listen, observe and learn from others and be flexible in my approach to things. “Always be the first rate version of yourself instead of a second rate version of someone else”. (Judy Garland) I feel that this is apt as I must focus and take ownership of my own learning this week, form my own opinions and change my thoughts. Today I have realised that change is not a threat, it is an opportunity.
Another positive day and I am looking forward to day 3 of my induction where I can truly see how some of these methods are applied at Academy 23!
