Martin's advice: Take a breath and start again!

Martin has been working closely with Stevie and has been keeping in touch with him through email and social media! He was overwhelmed with emotion as he realised that what he was learning and changing he was putting into practice and that he was getting a different outcome in situations which previously had ended in conflict. Below Martin shares with us what happened and how he felt!

"My wife called me the other day saying she had to work on, she started the conversation with "Don't go mad, but..." I immediately picked up on those words. I hadn't been happy on a few occasions previously when she'd called me to tell me she had to work on. These words immediately made me aware of how selfish I had been, I'm certain all going well she would much rather be at home with me and Eve having fun and discussing the events of the day.

I said to her "Let's start again, I know the last thing you want to do is work on and I understand this is unavoidable. I'm sorry for the way I've reacted in the past and I'll strive to be more understanding in the future". I could hear the relief in her voice, and possibly a little bit of surprise.

My wife has made a lot of allowances for me over the years due to my issues with anxiety and depression and I believe now is the time for me to start making the same allowances for her, I'm determined to make up for the mistakes I've made in the past. I asked myself the question "What can I do better next time and in the future?", I realise I can't do anything about my reactions in the past, the future gives me an opportunity to improve and repay the faith she has shown me over the years. Without starting this Journey with Stevie I fear I would never have noticed this flaw in my character and therefore would not have had the opportunity to sort it."

Being objective in a situation and looking at it with fresh eye's is making a huge difference to Martin and his family's life. Keep watching for the next developments.

Yes I was releived and a lot surprised as the reaction was so far removed from the norm, this was not only evident in this conversation but in almost every one since. Life Changing, lives changing ,Remarkable progress, Remarkable support and you and Stevie are Remarkable Men cant wait to see whats next if this only the begining
