Live each day as if it’s the last

Live each day as if it’s the last

There is a famous quote “It’s only when we know and truly understand that we have limited time on earth and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up, we begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it’s the only one we had.” So why is it we ruin so many days moaning and groaning about life? We are in a fast paced society where we take everything for granted especially our health. I watched the news yesterday and a British couple had won £56 million pounds on the lottery! That’s a huge amount of money that will change their life forever; they probably feel like the luckiest people in the whole wide world. See my weekend wasn’t as happy as that I was told a good friend had secondary cancer of the liver and that there is no treatment available to cure them. He has a maximum of 6 months to live potentially 12 months with some treatment. I thought about winning £56 million on the lottery and what I could do with that kind of money and for the first time in my life I fully realised that money is not really that important. It wouldn’t matter if I won all that money I still wouldn’t be able to help my friend. See his time is nearly gone, so I wonder what he thinks about first thing on a Monday morning knowing he may only see another 12. He probably feels like screaming as he can’t control the fate that looms over him but what he can control is his choices and he has chosen to accept his fate and live the last months of his life the best he can. So if I can take anything from this horrible situation that so many people have or will be faced with it’s to live everyday as if it’s the last. I know from now on I will be. My advice to you all is to embrace life as you’re only on earth for a holiday and today could be your final day. Stop worrying about things that you can’t control and put all your energy into the things that you can. What would you want to tell people if you were never going to see them again? What thing  have you always wanted to do but keep putting off? Are you happy in your job? If not change it! Are you happy in your relationship? Life is short, too short so make the right choices and live each day to the fullest as if it’s your last.
