Leadership Development Programme

This week saw the start of our Leadership Development programme for young people between the ages of 16 and 18.

The programme has been designed for Stevie to work on a one to one basis with young people who are facing multiple barriers to entering the labour market.

Stevie works with the young people on self awareness, their attitudes and behaviours and on their specific challenges. He takes a straight talking and direct approach with them and makes it clear that he can provide the tools but only they can make the changes in their lives.

This approach works! As soon as the young people have worked with Stevie there is an instant shift in their attitudes and in their ways of thinking. Stevie provides them with the skills they need to deal with their barriers and gives them a focus for the future.

The young people are given action points to take away and work on and after each session it is made clear that they must continue to work on their skills and take responsibility for their development.

We have some outstanding results with young people whose lives have been changed for the better. We are extremely excited about this programme and look forward to making more opportunities for even more young people.
