Instant Feedback for Stephen

Stevie has taught me the importance of acting instantly so as soon as I got back to the office I emailed Alison to show my appreciation.

As it turns out this instant approach is also a strategy that Alison adopts as I was delighted to get an email straight back with some positive feedback and some areas for improvement. See below for the feedback:

Hello Stephen

It was a pleasure to have you at our offices today, I have also sought feedback from Mary and Roz, see below:

Positives:

Good attitude.
Good timekeeping and called in advance to confirm time of arrival.
Smart and well presented.
Good eye-contact and actively approached us to introduce yourself on meeting.
Good questions and took notes.
Appeared genuinely interested in what we were telling you.
Listened and participated in conversation, had completed research and showed enthusiasm.
Confident and expressed own opinions and shared knowledge, showed intelligence.
Well mannered and sense of humour.

Improvement Areas:

OK handshake, could be a little firmer.
Be slightly clearer in speech, sometimes difficult to understand.
Yawned a little too often.
Be aware of a person’s personal space when sitting close to them

I was particularly please to see that my maintaining eye contact had been noted as a positive as this was an area that I wanted to improve on.

Thanks once again for the opportunity and for the constructive feedback which gives me areas to go on and improve.

More fantastic feedback for you Stephen! Must be a great confidence boost seeing how much you have improved from a few months ago. Nice you to see you have some points to work on too and remember for next time, keep doing what you''re doing!

And the journey continues. I used to find it difficult to hear feedback without taking it a wee bit personally. This is something I didn''t get to grips with until my late 20''s. You''re a total inspiration Stephen. How you handle the feedback and what you decide to do with it are powerfully positive. What an example of self-development. Rock on!

Excellent, it has been great to keep up with all your experiences as you go through your journey with KDS! This is an area where we could all take lessons from you-in getting feedback and points for development, dealing with it maturely and acting on it! Well Done!! K
