Inspirational Mark McKirdy

Yesterday was an amazing day for the KDS Training Team. Yet another academy journey was about to begin in sunny Glasgow. Academy 22 open day. I know the team are well prepared and excited about the chance to change more people’s lives. Yesterday was amazing in a different way for the team this time. Its very humbling being involved in changing peoples lives but even more humbling when you meet someone, who has the ability to make people feel good just by the way they smile at you unconditionally. I had the pleasure of working with someone like that this week. All week we have had the pleasure of a young man working within the KDS Group on work experience his name is Mark McKirdy. Marks week with KDS has been planned and it was the training teams chance to get Mark involved in what we deliver. Let me paint you a picture. The KDS Training team are in the largest Job centres in Glasgow with over 60 staff and countless customers to boot. The team are presenting to over 40 very apprehensive candidates. Right from the minute we arrive Mark is involved, he’s shaking hands and building relationships with everyone he meets including senior members of Job Centre Plus. How many young kids do you know that can stand up in front of 40 complete strangers and them “who he is, who his role models are and what his goals are in life”. Listen lets be absolutely clear about this, some of the people we work with find the “who am i “ one of the most challenging this they have ever had to do. I have to say and i speak for every one of the staff within the KDS Group. It’s been amazing inspirational week and an absolute pleasure to have had the opportunity to work with Mark McKirdy.
