End of my Second Week as Stevie Kidd's Executive Assistant

I have had another fabulous week with KDS, I was only here for 3 days this week as I had some time off for my Papa’s funeral. Stevie has been keeping things relatively straight forward for me and really using this week for me to get a good understanding of how the office works and how I am going to be working with him and the rest of the team.

On a personal note I achieved something that I have never been able to do before. As part of the academy journey Stevie asks the team to share their stories on how they came to be working at KDS and the circumstances that brought them to the organisation. I met Stevie about 9 months after my Dad was killed in a car crash, I knew straight away that he had a different approach to business and he had a real determined attitude – he couldn’t be fobbed off with the usual corporate speak as he just didn’t accept it!! I knew that I wanted to work in an environment like that but it took me 3 years before I felt the time was right and thankfully a position became available that Stevie felt I was right for. I have never been able to speak to a large number of people about my Dad as I would get a big lump in my throat and just wouldn’t be able to do it, I don’t like to be emotional in public so I have always avoided it but on Friday I shared the whole story with the academy and I was so pleased I actually managed to do it! I don’t think it’s a coincidence that I’ve been around Stevie for the last 2 weeks and then ‘magically’ I can do something I’ve never been able to before.

Next week is my first full week and I can’t wait!!
