Edinburgh: Positive Transitions Academy Week 1
Week One – In our Own words, by Positive Transitions Academy #3.
On day one we all felt quite nervous. We learned to be confident and speak to each other. Some of us didn’t really want to be on the course, we didn’t know what to expect, we were anxious and not sure what it would be like or how many people would be there. Some of us assumed it would be crap, but it’s turned out to be useful. (Raymond, Steven & Fix)
During the course of the week we covered subjects of:
Who Am I
Attitudes Behaviours
Communication
Skills & Strategy for Employment
Team Building
We have learned to look at ourselves and others in new ways, re-evaluate our attitudes and how we interact with people. We’ve become more confident. We discovered our strengths and learned from each other and worked well together through the teambuilding. (Peter & Denis)
We’re halfway through the course and we feel much better than when we started and are enjoying it. We’re learning things we didn’t know before. We feel educated, enlightened and more confident. We’re really enjoying doing the teambuilding skills and are definitely looking forward to next week! (Joanna, Dougie & Robert)
