Edinburgh 7: The end or the beginning?

Every finish line is also a start line was the message today as Edinburgh(7) finished their KDS Academy and started the next stage of their individual journeys with a new lease of life! It had been a busy Academy with 17 candidates sustaining the course till the end! This two week Positive Transitions Academy (run in conjunction with A4e) has seen all the candidates make changes to their thoughts, their beliefs and their actions.

Life coaching, skills identification, communication, confidence, interview preparation and a good helping of motivation and positivity have equipped candidates to move forward in both their personal and career aims! With lots of laughs, “you-had to be there” jokes and education on many levels for the candidates (yes Paul and Jamie I do mean you!) the two weeks have flown in and the ripple effect is now spreading the changes further!

Friends and family of the candidates have commented on how they are “more focused and determined”, “much more relaxed and calm”, “enjoy mornings again” and “less like a grumpy old man” which has brightened up their personal lives and given them more reasons to keep up the motivation!

Today the candidates recognised the changes in themselves and each other and shared with us how they have changed their view of their situation and the world around them! One candidate who said on day two “that guy in Tesco is just too cheerful” now says “I am like that guy in Tesco – always smiling and talking to people”! (Nicky in Tesco, we are talking about you! and a big thank you for all your local knowledge and info!)

Keep Smiling!
