Edinburgh 7: Positively Transforming!
It has been a full house this week in Edinburgh with 20 candidates starting the 7th Positive Transition Academy, in partnership with A4e! We have packed a lot into this week and have had a good look at our communication style in life, at work and at interview! We have looked at our attitudes to our current situation, those who are involved in it and looked at how to keep our attitudes positive and focused! We identified the skills we have to offer an employer and understand what an employer is looking for in asking certain questions! As the week has progressed the confidence has grown, the interaction has increased, competitive spirit is in evidence and by Friday we had spontaneous role play and A4e staff joining in an activity too! (Thanks Paul, looking forward to having you back!)
This week also included a surprise visit from Stevie Kidd who made a huge impression on the group and re-inforced many of the messages that candidates had been getting throughout the week! Feedback on Stevie was excellent and candidates took the opportunity to speak to him one-to-one, learn from his experience and make contacts in their fields of work! Learning the importance of INSTANT from his visit these candidates took his advice and moved forward towards their goals!
Other users of the centre have commented on the positive transformation in this group of individual: the smiles, laughter and the energy that is coming from them and their training room! The big changes will continue next week!!
