East Renfrewshire Care Academy 27 - End of our journey and Thank You's

From day one we were all shy and lacked confidence. We have all grown so much and are no longer scared of speaking in front of others. We have found new friendship and a bond that is special with our peers. During the Academy, each of us have experienced highs and lows, but no matter what we have been a team and helped one another through it! We have benefited so much from the course and we are stronger in knowledge and belief as a result.

The Care Academy has literally been a rollercoaster of a ride for us but do you know what? ........ Michelle has kept us all on form and we are focussed and helped us to succeed. We have built knowledge of working in a Care Home and we will be role models in our field. Although our Academy is coming to an end, we know that we will achieve our goals and stay in touch. Academy 27 – ALL THE WAY GUYS!!!!!!

A change for the better......This Academy has made me feel more confident and much more determined. I felt so good about myself after Mind over Matter Day and I know then that change was coming! I feel better about myself and my future. The relationship with me daughter has improved and I am really happy about this. I now have goals in my life and my aim is to get what I want out of life. Confidence continues to grow! I have become more confident since starting the Academy and this is evident to others. I am confident in what I do and in what I say now! I have made 7 new friends that I will stay in touch with and will give support to and receive support from. I have BELIEF in myself and will no longer shy away from challenges. Travelled far in my 4 week Academy journey! Academy 27 is coming to an end but this has been a fantastic journey for me. In the last 4 weeks I have come a long way, with a few bumps along the way that I have overcome! Friendships have been formed and I know that at times I would have struggled without their support. KDS have given me a great opportunity to succeed and I look forward to what the future holds for me and my friends on the Academy! - Kimberley Pinkett

My journey of confidence.Going everyday to the Academy 27 has made me learn a lot more about myself. During week one I was really nervous and did not have any confidence. I did not like speaking in front of others. However, over the past few weeks I feel more confident and can go up and talk without being nervous.  A new lease of life. Since coming on this KDS Care Academy I have become a lot more confident and very motivated to do well. I have made a lot of new friends and I am keen to do even more now. Before I came on the academy, I had no get up and go and this affected my attitude. I lay about all day doing the same thing everyday. Now I am buzzing! Full of life and looking forward to getting a job! I have met people who are caring and understanding and I am going to have a better life - Eleanor Muir
