Different means of communication - same amazing results!

This week has seen some pretty bad weather and there haven't been many of us that have escaped without it causing some kind of impact on our schedules.

Stevie never lets anything get in the way of him achieving all he wants in a week and this week was no different! He was scheduled to deliver a life coaching session on the KDS Training Fife academy however, due to the weather conditions he was unable to travel there. So, the next best solution was to make a telephone call into the academy and deliver a session whilst on loud speaker.

There was never any doubt that Stevie would have an impact but we wondered if it would be as strong as he couldn't look the guys in the eye. When we received this feedback on Friday afternoon all of our concerns were addressed! Below is the feedback from Dean, a candidate on the academy:

Hi Stevie,

Firstly, I hope what sounded like a pretty busy day has gone well.

My name's Dean Reid and I'm currently having my mind altered on the Fife Academy... I mean this in the most complimentary way possible.

Firstly, I want to thank you for borrowing that £500 from your Dad for the van because had it not been for that I would not be feeling so positive right now. I have no doubt what so ever that you're aware of the significance that your company, your trainers and yourself but I feel I should express it personally.

A little about me; I'm driven by the fact that in order to live the life you want to live you need to make money. I want to be able to give the people around me the best life that I can, and I'm aware that some of that requires currency.
I'm also very focused on having a career where I'm making a difference to someone. I will join the Scottish Ambulance Service before I am 25,however I am faced with financial barriers... Rest assured, these barriers will not hold me back. I just need time to get my speed up so I can jump over.

I worked in Asda in Kirkcaldy for 2 and a half years and thought I had landed on a jackpot when I secured a job with Fife Council. Six months down the line I'm let go and find myself unemployed and changing personally for the worse. After my 6 month work placement through the "future jobs fund", I find myself creeping towards the dole queue once again.

My main problem is not that I think too little of myself and that I need to be taught of my own worth, in some respects its the opposite.
After being let go from Fife Council, I waited until the money dried up to begin looking for jobs with a "I'll get somethin', no problem" attitude. MISTAKE. As my future jobs fund placement was coming to an end I began to look for other employment, then as I am given the opportunity to attend KDS training I began to relax my job search again. I stopped trying to get "any job" and believed there was always something better suited or better paid. Maybe this is a state of mind you can help me with?

Listening to you talk on our conference call today has lit a fire in me again. The same inspiration as I have drawn from working with Kate- who as you know, you are so lucky to have with your company!! I spend a lot of my day at the course smiling as I listen to Kate's journey which is again, inspirational!

I am writing to you so that rather than putting a name to a face when we do meet in Kirkcaldy, you know a little about me and can advise me on my journey.

Your words and attitude are very powerful, I look forward to meeting soon.

Thank you for your time,

Dean Reid
