Comfort zone
THE COMFORT ZONE
I used to have a comfort zone
Where I though I could not fail
Same four walls and busy work
Were really more like jail
I longed so much to do the things
I had never done before
But I stayed inside my comfort zone
And paced the same old floor
I said it didn’t matter
That I wasn’t doing much
I said I didn’t care for things
Like diamonds fur and such
I claimed to be so busy
With the things inside my zone
But deep inside I longed
For something special of my own
I could not let my life go by
Just watching others win
I held my breath and stepped outside
And let change begin
I took a step and with new strength
I had never felt before
I kissed my comfort zone good bye
Closed and locked the door
If you are in a comfort zone
Afraid to venture out
Remember all the winners were
At one time filled with doubt
Step out my friend and you will see
Like those who have gone before
Once you are out, your wings will sprout
And like the eagle, you will soar!
BREAKING OUT OF THE COMFORT ZONE – DOING SOMETHING DIFFERENT
Start small and do something different every day. List what you will do differently tomorrow...and the next day...and the next.....
1. Here are some examples to generate ideas:
2. Make a call
3. Catch up with an old friend
4. Buy something new
5. Plan something for next week-end
6. Order a different beer
7. E-mailing some-one/colleague to catch up
8. Take a different route home
9. Speak to some-one you would not normally speak to
10. Ask for a meeting with ..........
11. Buy a different paper
12. Make a different choice for lunch
13. Order a different wine
14. Go out for a run rather than watch the TV
