Changing your thoughts will change your life!
Changing your thoughts will change your life!
Are your beliefs holding you back?
I spent time with my nephews this weekend, it was brilliant and behaving like a child again was fantastic fun, imagination took us everywhere and we believed we could be anything! I asked myself why does the imagination and belief you can achieve anything stop? The answer is right there – BELIEFS! As we are growing up we get our beliefs from parents, teachers, friends and the media, and some of these that are instilled in us as kids, rightly or wrongly (OK mostly wrongly!) remain today. Are these core beliefs holding us back from reaching our full potential in life? Probably! Will they stop future generations of kids reach their full potential? Definitely! Should we change these beliefs and be more aware of what we are leading children to adopt as core beliefs? Certainly! Lets change the thoughts behind these beliefs to make them infinitely more positive!
Because you failed at something, you are a failure. Often perpetuated at school where we are told it’s all about winning. Don’t hold yourself back by believing this. Install a new belief – if you fail at something, learn from it and try again. (I wish I had known that years ago – I would have saved myself a lot of tears!)
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! In this case not change for the sake of change but change for improvement, to move on in life and embrace new challenges we need to continually evaluate, improve and change. If we don’t then things stagnate and we get bored (and if you are anything like me when you get bored you start to cause trouble!!)
You are too old to start new things! Starting something new is a great way to keep the brain active and to keep up enthusiasm for life. As the advert says - Just do it!
The world does not revolve around you! Yes – it actually does!! (admit it we all knew that!!) Everybody has a different perception of the world – we see it differently from each other, therefore it is about you!! Now that we have established that point what are you going to do to change your world?
Nobody believes in you! Work on believing in yourself and not needing others to believe in you! Once you believe in yourself other people quickly follow suit!!
There is nothing you can do about it! Rubbish! Life can be hard and it takes guts to make the decision to change your life, but you can change it. Know what you want, know the steps you have to take and then change it.
