Can You "Learn" to be an Entrepreneur?
Earlier today Lord Alan Sugar posted on twitter
“I hope with this Apprentice series that over the weeks I inspire people to start their own biz. Those who take the leap please let me know”
This really got us thinking at Stevie Kidd People – what is it that separates those who take that leap to branch out on their own and those who do not?
There are many things that come to mind courage, risk-taking, capital, attitude and innovation to name just a few. We think it’s much simpler than that – it’s due to a lack of information being given to young people. We are absolutely passionate about encouraging entrepreneurial spirit within young people and nurturing new business talent.
What do you think – can you “learn” to be an entrepreneur?
We think so; we think that many young people are being done a disservice by not having the opportunity within the school curriculum to learn about enterprise and the elements involved in running your own business.
Much of the work we are currently doing revolves around creating partnerships with organisations that are actively encouraging young people to get involved in enterprise and also creating our own programmes giving young people an insight into the world of business and the skill set required for making it in business.

Attitude, not Aptitude, determines Altitude. I believe that lack of support in family and at school makes those who could, decide there is a no point. Glass ceilings need shattered.

Through my experiences with the Recruit and KDS, I''ve definitely learned a lot about business which I wasn''t aware of previously and feel much more confident about entering the world of commerce than I would have otherwise.

I think everyone has the potential to be an entrepreneur but only a small number recognise this potential and develop it

The lack of information is a big problem and it is more apparent that there is a gap in education for this by looking at the amount of candidates who are keen to start a business and have been for sometime that are now asking for the information! K

can you learn to be an entrepreneur? here is a good quote: entrepreneurs average 3.8 failures before final success... what sets the successful ones apart? their amazing persistence - as SK mentioned, ''those who take that leap to branch out on their own and
those who do not''
