Another Step Along the Journey

Today we took another step towards Stephen McDonald coming into the world of Stevie Kidd and KDS. 

This is a process that cannot be rushed and we have a duty to Stephen to ensure that we have completed a thorough evaluation and have great partnerships with all of the agencies that currently support Stephen.

Today Stephen and Stevie had a brief mentoring session to discuss the next stages. Stevie was sure to get some key messages across to Stephen.

Stephen had brought in a piece of A4 paper that he had ripped in half and on it he had written details of the college courses that he is interested in. Although this showed great initiative Stevie pointed out that the standard just didn't make the right first impression. Stevie went on to show Stephen the standard that we work to at KDS. He challenged Stephen on whether he could adhere to behaviour of excellence at all times. Stephen said that he absolutely could and that he was up for the challenge.

After the session Stephen said:

“The main point I got from Stevie was that presentation is really important. It’s about how other people see you and the impression they get. Stevie also spoke about the future and the importance of planning. I also learned that it is vital to reflect and learn from any mistakes.”

“I am so excited about coming into KDS and learning more from Stevie."
