Aberdeen's got Talent!
It was a full house today as the second Aberdeen Positive Transitions Academy started off on their journey! 12 candidates and several key workers started the day the KDS way with a warm handshake, a smile and a welcoming voice, music and motivation! Different from other training, a resounding yes was the answer from all who were there!
We started the Who am I journey and found that everyone has a story, has fought difficult battles and everyone is at the same point of wanting to move on! 12 individuals quickly start to become one team. We had tears, laughter, honesty and courage as the afternoon progressed and we discovered many hidden talents among the candidates sitting in the room! Musician (with a single being released in May) artists, technology, fitness to name but a few – In fact if we had the equipment we could film the experience as we have a candidate who is trained in using the camera’s used for filming TV and films!
We have all agreed by the end of this two week journey our talents will no longer be hidden and we will be making these known to all those potential work placements and employers out there- to let them, and everyone else, know that ABERDEEN’S GOT TALENT!!
