A Tailor Made Job Role
An ideal word to epitomise the past few days would be productive. Of course, every moment with the KDS Group is filled with productivity, however this week the tasks which I have undertaken have demonstrated tangible results immediately.
Not only have I learned about my strengths and weaknesses whilst being with KDS, everyone else has had the opportunity to discover these too, and tailor a job to suit my strengths. Therefore, after I was allowed time to deal with the transition from school to work, I have now been given a role within KDS which I have full ownership of: procurement. The lengthy and thorough process of applications and analysis of information relates to the law industry, so I am acquiring skills which I can apply later in life too.
Although procurement has been practiced before within KDS, there was scope for a defined system to be established. Therefore my first job was creating a strategy and template files which would be used to make tendering a more efficient and organised routine. Now this strategy is going to be implemented within the KDS Group, and I am going to be presenting this system to the team on Friday so that everyone is made aware of this.
I like that idea that if I were not here, this system would not exist, so I can really see the impact my work is having on KDS, and even after I leave, the process will still be on file.
