8 Weeks Later
Two months. Broken down that is 8 weeks, or 40 working days, or 320 working hours I’ve spent being part of KDS Training.
I’m actually really proud of what I do and being part of what KDS Group is all about. Stevie Kidd was working with a group of young people today and this typified the kind of way he works. He’s in charge of a large business that is more diverse than any I’ve come across, and he takes half a day out to spend time mentoring and coaching young students from Reid Kerr College – even they were impressed that a successful business man was not bragging, not aloof and willing to help them take their lives in a positive direction in their lives; they asked him “why?” would he do this without charging a fee. What was his answer? “Because I can!” What is most impressive is that where most MD’s would busy themselves with the business of business, Stevie Kidd empowers his employees to self manage, be autonomous but accountable. That strategy allows him time to spend maximizing his impact on the people on his Training Academies, (check out the podcasts and photos), and with young people like today’s group. Stevie’s message is pretty simple – look to what you want to get out of life, learn from the best, apply the winning strategy to your life and you’ll achieve your goal. Regardless of whether this is in business, in relationships or any aspect of your life, this model works. As one of my friends once said, “If you aim for nothing you’ll probably get it.” “The goal of KDS Group is to always achieve the grade higher than excellence” – now that’s not a bad place to aim for. I’m looking forward to adding value along the way to that. …..that’s why I’m proud to work for a group that challenges mediocrity, demands positive outcomes and expects the best. 8 Weeks, 40 Working Days, 320 hours, however you break it down its still been a powerful journey.
