ROAD SAFETY JOURNEYS/STORIES

This week we focus on Road Safety Vehicle Aaron Turner with Tommy Tallach being the driver of this vehicle, Tommy on his day to day role covers areas such as Milngavie, Kirkintilloch, Cumbernauld and surrounding areas.

Tommy is fully committed in his role of Road Safety Driver for KDS and raises awareness for Road Safety each day and reports back all feedback from his week through meetings and photographs of his journeys. read below 1 of Tommys reports.

REACTIONS TO VEHICLE:

I went along to the shop at my house and asked the man behind the counter if i could talk to him about something that may or may not raise unpleasant memories for him. I made him aware of tthe fact that i drove a road safety vehicle and told him about the message my vehicle carried, i asked him what he thought about it and if there had been such things on tthe road before what had happened to him, did he think it would have made a difference...

He replied if someone had given him talks about this or these vehicles had been around his actions may never have happened.

Finally to let you know who this man is, a few years ago he was speeding on Renfrew Road where he knocked down a mother who was crossing the road with her child in a pram, the result being the death of a child.

End of my 6th week as Stevie Kidd’s Executive Assistant

Well where do I start on how the last 6 weeks have gone? The time has flown by but at the same time I feel like I’ve worked with KDS forever! I have been involved with so many interesting and exciting things, things I never thought I’d do.

Some of the highlights have been:

· Filming the spoof DVD for Stevie’s 40th birthday – this was a great day and absolutely hilarious. Well done Roger for an Oscar winning performance and well done Andrew for the editing and filming. Thankfully Stevie loved it and we all got to keep our jobs after he’d seen it!

· Stevie’s Party – it was a fabulous night from start to finish. The venue was amazing and the company was even better, I think it said a lot about the type of people that Stevie surrounds himself with. From a personal point of view, organising the party was my first task from a planning point of view so I was delighted that everything ran seamlessly on the night – phew!!

· Filming for the Stevie Kidd People Website – this is something that I never dreamed I would get to do and it was really interesting. We hired a green room, professional filming equipment and a cameraman and sound engineer to film Stevie for his website and visual images for the motivational seminar in September. Stevie, Andrew and I took 3 days out to write the script and go to the filming, it was a draining 3 days but it was really fascinating to learn how it’s all done. Andrew’s editing skills have been called upon again and the footage looks amazing.

· Launch of the new website – It has been such an honour to be involved with this and I can’t wait till launch day.

· Securing DUNCAN BANNATYNE for the motivational event – we held a brainstorming meeting and created a list of potential guest speakers starting with the absolute(probably never going to happen but would be amazing if it did) favourite – Duncan Bannatyne. We done some research, put a proposal together and a few weeks later the proposal was accepted and we secured Duncan as a guest speaker for Stevie’s motivational event – outstanding and super exciting!!!!!

I feel really lucky to be working at KDS, I am learning all of the time and I can’t wait to see what happens next!!

Stirling Call Centre, Week two!

The journey continued this week in Stirling with another action packed week which culminated with the graduation today!! Role play brought all the learnings together and we discovered that WE CAN DO THIS!!!! Mock interviews (and actual interviews!!) proved that we knew our skills, strengths and what we were looking for in employment! Continued confidence building, life enhancement and positivity in our attitudes kept us moving forward in a dynamic way!

Graduation was a celebration of success and an opportunity for us to give open and honest feedback on the differences and changes!! Laughter, relationship building, tears and looking forward to tomorrow (and many more tomorrows!!) was a fantastic way to end the Academy! Interview dates are all set for next week, I have no doubt that Team Stirling will achieve the grade above excellence in their futures!
