My name is Lynsey Mackay and I am the Trainee Sales and Marketing Assistant at KDS Group.
I successfully completed the Renfrewshire Recruit Programme over the summer where I was one of seven to receive a job at the end.
I have been undertaking a variety of tasks in different departments, from distribution to training which has allowed me to gain a view of the company as a whole. I felt that this was a unique opportunity to learn more out with school and start a journey on my chosen career path, whilst gaining invaluable experience.
In 20 years time I see myself in a high position within a retail chain, as a respected manager and decision maker. With my main interest being in business management, I feel that working in KDS will give me an insight into how a real company works and increase my understanding of business dynamics before going to university.
Outside of KDS, I am a keen skier and enjoy both racing and freestyle. I am a very driven person but also outgoing and enjoy meeting up with friends and going shopping. In the future, I am hoping to pursue my love of skiing and train to be an instructor in Canada during the ski season whilst also studying business.
I am very excited about the future ahead including the challenges to be faced along the way and looking forward to embracing further opportunities.

Trainee Sales and Marketing Administrator
My name is Sarahjane Sarkhosh, and I am the new trainee business development analyst at KDS.
My journey here began back in April when a programme called “The Recruit” visited the school. They explained that they would be running the “Apprentice-themed” project throughout Summer, which would end with a black tie event where the winner would be offered the top job. My immediate response was that I wanted to participate, as I realised this was a good opportunity which would help me develop skills in business. I didn’t anticipate that I would end up securing the top job at the end of it all...
It’s now the beginning of my 6th week here at KDS. I realise that the opportunity I have been given is unlike many, for I don’t look at this as merely a job, but a learning experience where I am constantly developing my character. I regularly film clips for Lynsey and I’s online journal, and am being faced with various different tasks and challenges. I am really enjoying myself here, as I have settled in and feel comfortable within the office and with the team.
Outside of work, I go to college twice a week to study Advanced Higher English to greaten my chances of going to university to study law. Apart from that, when I have spare time I like to go out with my friends. I’m very outgoing, and like to try different things. One word to describe me would be vivacious. I have a passion for drama, and have participated in various shows in the past. At current, I am fundraising for my gap year next year which I am extremely excited about, where I am going to Senegal in Africa to teach primary children and run extra curricular activities. I have many goals in life, and am always looking for things to do which will help mould my future, however I am always making sure that I’m having fun and enjoying what I do in life.
